My Summer Annoyance & Remedy

With the summer weather in full affect, I enjoy taking my indoor treadmill running to the great outdoors. The problem I find when I run outdoors and return home, are the mosquito bites. They always seem to attack my ankles, behind my knees, and on the back of my arms. The other day while I was walking my dog I was actually bit on the knuckle of my hand.  Of course our natural instinct is to begin scratching, which leads to swelling, and if we keep going, it can lead to scarring. Who wants to scar his or her beautiful sun kisssed skin? Not me!

A girlfriend of mine had told me about this simple solution that has worked for her and her pets, so I thought what the heck, i'll give it a try. It only requires a few items, most you may have already. If not, here is your shopping list:

• Water

• 1 cup dried rosemary

• Strainer

• Spray bottle

Add 1 cup dried rosemary to a quart of water, boiling it in a pot for 20 to 30 minutes. Pour a quart of cool water into another container (that holds at least half a gallon), then strain the rosemary water into the container. Pour small amounts of the blend into squirt bottles to apply directly to skin and outdoor pets. Store the unused portions in the refrigerator; discard it when it no longer smells strongly of rosemary.(Source)

When I tell you, this remedy has saved my skin. Of course you can always buy the normal brands  like Off – Deep Woods but, if you have time, and like to cut costs like me, the rosemary option is the way to go. So there it is, Short and Simple. Now I can get back to loving everything about the summer agaim!

Do you have any summer annoyances and remedies?
